Days Supply #2

Then

💊 My prescription says “Take 1 tablet twice a day.” How far apart should I take them? Can I take both at once for convenience?

Answer: “Twice a day” means taking your medication two times in 24 hours — about every 12 hours. (24 hours ÷ 2 doses = 12 hours apart.) A simple schedule would be one dose in the morning (around 8 AM) and one in the evening (around 8 PM). Spacing your doses evenly keeps a steady level of medicine in your body so it works properly throughout the day. Taking both tablets together may make the medicine too strong at first and wear off too soon later. Unless your doctor or pharmacist says it’s okay, it’s best to keep them about 12 hours apart. If you’re unsure, ask your pharmacist — they can help you find a schedule that fits your day.
